No, there is no need or requirement to tell the car rental company that you have purchased Rental Vehicle Excess (RVE) Insurance from Allianz

Just like you don’t need to inform an airline that you have travel insurance when purchasing a flight ticket or boarding a plane, you do not need to advise the car rental company that you have purchased Rental Vehicle Excess (RVE) Insurance cover from Allianz

You can simply decline Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Excess Reduction options when the car rental company offers them to you at the counter.

Should an incident occur during your rental period, the car rental company will assess the damage repair cost and provide you with a loss damage report. They will then charge your credit card the assessed value of the car damage (this amount may be up to the rental vehicle excess amount specified in your car rental agreement).

You would then lodge a claim to Allianz Global Assistance (AGA) for the charged damage value. AGA would then reimburse the assessed claim value to you in line with the terms of the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
