If you are responsible for an incident while driving your rental car that is a genuine accident and not a breach of your rental terms and conditions (eg. not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol), the product will provide cover up to your excess benefit limit outlined in your certificate of insurance for the repair cost to both your car and the other vehicle/s involved in the incident.
The car rental company, as the owner of the rental vehicle, also hold compulsory third party (CTP) insurance to provide cover for any death or injury that occurs as a result of an accident that the rental car is involved in.
If you have an accident that causes damage to third party property such as a boom gate or fence, providing you have not breached the terms and conditions of your rental agreement, repair works are provided for up top the benefit limit outlined in your certificate of insurance.
